We were born from light before there even was a dawn

Found out that icon communities are active on DW. Dusted off random old journal to start making icons again. Feeling very giddy about it. It's been so long! And to see names I recognize! I'm glad breyzyyin seem to still be around and okay. Haven't talked to either of them in... probably a good decade. I don't even know anymore. If they see this! Hi! Odds of you remembering me are... idek, but it's been ages and I'm glad to see you're seemingly both still around in the icon community.

I like how I've changed names so many times I can't even just say "Hi it's -blank-" because I don't know what I was using then. Shan? Colleen? Star? Kara? Will?!?! And there's more I know there is. But apparently last time I updated my LJ it was to Shan and that was seemingly 6 years ago. But the DW backup version says Colleen so... yeah. You see the conundrum.

I haven't made an icon seriously in years. I'm actually really proud of that HOB one and I can't wait to use it myself. I think it's so pretty. No matter what the comm results are, I feel like I'll definitely be the real winner just for remembering an old passion. I feel like while I'm rusty I haven't actually completely lost the skills I had then... what little they might be in the grand scheme of things anyway.


.......... I need textures this laptop is only 2 years old and doesn't have the stash my old PC did. Thankfully my old icon comm has a post with links to resources I used back then. Thanks elysian ! Think I'll stick to my decision to switch to starlette though, for a clean start after so long.
